I have a love hate relationship with Frontenac Plaza. I love it because it’s beautiful and filled with the top luxury stores of our time. I hate it because my pocket book is below empty every time I shop there. That was before I found a sparkly little high end costume jewelry shop called Landau.
This little shop is big in sales right now, 80% off jewelry big! I walked right in to check it out and was greeted with a big smile and friendly hello by Abby. She showed me the baskets and glass covered shelves of trinkets for sale and then left me to go through the treasures. There is something about being able to pick up, by the hand full, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings and blings. Oh, how lucky my friends and family will be this Christmas I was thinking to myself. Abby came back over with a stunning bracelet ensemble to match the earrings I was groping and Ta-DA, one perfect gift down.
I was in Landau for about 45 minutes because I just could not make up my 80% off sale spinning mind. Everything was so tempting and perfect for so many people. Abby was never pushy and very helpful and fun. It’s hard to find sales people that make shopping fun and exciting but she sure did.
Landau opened up its sparkling doors on Worth Ave in West Palm Beach. They have 66 stores and the only Landau in St. Louis is at Plaza Frontenac. Landau is the largest high end costume jewelry in the U.S. and get this, they offer a lifetime guarantee on all their bobbles. Stop in and shop in with Abby, Alena or Marie.
Landau is located at 266 Plaza Frontenac, St. Louis, MO 63131. 314-993-8200
When Scarlet O’Hara asked Red Butler where she should go and what she should do, he should have replied, “Frankly my dear, I prefer going to Terra and shopping for oh-so-fun unique gifts. ”
He would be right on the money too because this little jewel is packed with merchandise that you just don’t see everywhere. It is a large shop that offers many themes of gifts; outdoor furniture by Smith& Hawkin, hand painted wine and martini glasses, frames, books, art, pillows, candles, rugs, bright colored hammocks, seasonal items and much more. The Halloween display is spooktacular and you won’t be able to resist getting a little somethin -somethin. Continue reading Shop with the Wind
I was out and about looking for fun and different gifts when I stumbled upon APPLE OF YOUR EYE . This is a fun and Wimsey little store with a lot of something for everyone. I was instantly drawn in by the bright polk-a-dot initial flag waving out front. I entered to see a fun display of Halloween gifts and my favorite thing in any store, a big smile and cheerful hello and welcome by the lady behind the front counter. It is one of those shops that even though it’s small, you can get lost for hours looking and picking up everything. Apple of your eye is a personalized gift store that offers something for everyone at any age. They carry Willow Tree figurines, Backpacks, wedding gifts, men’s, ladie’s, kid’s and family gifts, jewelry, crystal and ceramic ware. The children’s area was precious but not as precious as the hand bag wall at 50% off! Yummy!
I found many unique and oh so fun things that I couldn’t resist my purchase of a little mirror that says in the corner, “Does this make me look fat?” Perfect for my girlfriend’s upcoming birthday . I then couldn’t pass up the two bright insulated zipper bags for my kid’s teachers, perfect for putting Halloween treats in. Did I mention my fun finds were 50% off???? The ladies that work there are very helpful and friendly so if you have a special or any occasion that calls for a fun and unique some-thin some-thin, high tail it over to Apple of your Eye. They have two locations. One is in Webster Groves at 20 North Gore and the other is where I shopped in Town and Country at 13426 Clayton Rd. next to Starbucks.
Chocolate Soup is a store that I have heard about for many years but never got around to actually shopping in. Well, I’m here to tell ya that my husband is especially happy that I did not discover this little shop because there are many adorable, very original, cuter than cute children’s clothing there.
I immediately liked this store when I saw the two clearance racks outside the store front. I picked out four items for my nine year old princess before I ever entered the shop itself. Jess is her name and she is very picky about how her clothes feel on her skin. The sweat pants and sweatshirt were so soft inside I just wanted to pet them, seriously. The long denim skirt with slits on both sides is perfect for Fall boot weather and the adorable, comfy yellow shorts were just what she needed. All four pieces totaled $22.00! I was beside myself with the excitement of such brilliant finds. I couldn’t wait to see what was inside. Chocolate Soup has been in business for 31 years, it is located in an old building so it’s a bit musty and reminds me a little of my Grandma’s basement but the clothes are one of a kind and well made. Chocolate Soup is their own brand but they also carry brands like Le Top, Derek Heart, Baby Lulu, Bugaboo and more. The newest arrivals can be a bit pricey butthey have great sales going on all the time I am told. Right now they are offering 75% off spring/summer items, 50% off Fall items and accessaries and 80% off everything on the clearance racks outside.
The size racks inside were a little confusing but the sales ladies are as sweet as they can be and very helpful if you need them. I found a lot more that I liked for Jessica than I did for my son who is a size 6. There was the most adorable little cowboy fringe jacket and matching pants in smaller sizes at 50% off so if you have a smaller boy get over there quick. If you are looking for cute and unique clothing for babies, toddlers or children then I think you will satisfy your cravings at Chocolate Soup. They are located at 13456 Clayton Rd. in Town and Country next to StarBucks and Apple of your eye gift shop, check out my diningsaintlouis blog.
St. Louis has many stores to shop in but when I want to go TREASURE hunting I head to Tuesday Morning. This store changes constantly and you never know what new treasure you will find. This is not an irregular merchandise or sloppy seconds store but instead offers top quality items from famous maker’s closeouts.
I spent two hours just browsing the five short isles yesterday as my children bounced at a birthday party a few doors down at Bounce U. I thought I had Continue reading Tuesday Treasure Hunt
